We wish to investigate the spiritual dimension of the natural environment experienced as a habitat. We are intrigued by how a cultural landscape, once transformed into a familiar haunting ground, can feel like sanctuary.
Location – in this case – is everything.
Olympus as a focal point is an idyllic and ideal place to begin. Throughout the ages Olympus has stood as the border between the fields of Thessaly and Macedonia; now between the regional units of Larissa and Pieria.
Approaching Mount Olympus by car offers a multiplicity of routes to take. Alternatively, you can take advantage of the nearest train station which is that of Litochoro, just a 20 minute ride from the city proper.
Do not fool yourself. Getting to know Olympus takes more than a few days. Plan for an extended stay, and be prepared for a truly mystical experience.
